How to make Tandoori Fish:
- Gently wash fish under running tap water and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Cut fish into 1 – 2 inch cubes. Prick each piece with a fork and keep it aside.
- In medium size bowl (preferably non-metal) add thickened yogurt. To the yogurt, add garlic & ginger paste, green chili paste, lime juice, olive oil and all the spices. Mix well with a whisk until all ingredients are combined well.
- Add fish pieces to the yogurt marinade and gently rub the marinade onto the fish. Cover and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for the best results. The longer the fish is left in the marinade, the better the end results will be. The lime juice and yogurt will help to tenderize the fish and absorb the flavors.
- Fish can be baked in the oven or on the barbecue.
For oven – Preheat oven the 350F. Line a baking dish with foil and lightly spray with oil. Take fish pieces from the marinade and put it in the baking dish. Bake it until fish is fully cooked, turning over once or twice.
For barbecue – Line the grill with foil wrap. Preheat the barbecue. Lightly spray the foil with oil. Take fish pieces from the marinade and place it on the foil. Turn the fish over frequently to prevent it from sticking. Cook until fish is fully cooked.
Note: If you wish to put the fish directly on the barbcque grill, ensure to oil the grill very well to prevent the fish from sticking to it.
- Garnish with onion rings, green peppers and lime. Serve hot with Pudina chutney.
